A very subtle weekend
Jun. 12th, 2006 08:57 amThis weekend marked the return to netflix. I commented to my bunny that we should start it up again after my reluctance to watch movies has diminished. We started with "The Life Aquatic". This is a very subtle film that is very good. To warn any one wanting to go and see the movie, the movie has a style and humor that may not work for you. If it does work, it will be a great film, if not you'll wonder why you spent time watching it.
After the move I went out and had a cigar and continued to read Nova by Delany. Notice that I'm publicly stating that I had a cigar (hoyo de monterrey excalibur #1). I'm loath to admit it, but I need to. I enjoy cigars. About once, twice or three times a month I enjoy a cigar. I don't want to have one more often because they are too expensive and the health detriments would go up.
The rest of the weekend was reading, watching MST3K and watching "The Smartest Guys in the Room". That last movie made me hate capitalism. It should considering that Enron was a perfect example of pure capitalism and how bad that can really be.
Sunday was an interesting day because I started to get depressed because I had not done enough over the weekend. The thing was that at the beginning of the weekend I want to do nothing because I had been too busy during the week. This all hit home when I was working on my music. I'm still trying to figure out how to put two different parts together. It's much harder than it looks.
Oh, there is good Shiko news, but I'm not ready to talk about it. Another post.
