It's not better than you can imagine

I reject The adage "It's better than you can imagine". All of my life I'm imagined people, places and events that were better than the real people, the real places and the real events I am in the middle of. No matter how good it is, I can and often do think of imaginary ways of making it better. This leaves most everything I do feeling empty because I am thinking and looking for something as good as I can imagine. I've made my glass far too big.
