Always Looking

I often find myself at work, or at home on my computer sitting there looking for something to excite me. I remember during my missing year reading wired magazines from the first year and thinking about how wonderful and life changing all these things are happening around me. I guess I'm looking for wonder.

Or I could be posting to procrastinate from working.

Either way I could use a good thwack to the side of my head.

Procrastination is good :)

Well one should always look for new and exciting things by turning over rocks and seeing what scurries about. The funny thing is, that in looking for new and exciting things, you frequently run into information or ideas that can make your job easier. It also is a good way to take a break from a nettlesome problem and give your brain a chance to relax a second before you go back to working on it. Besides, all work and no excitment make for a grumpy Athelstanent :)

Well you assume that I'm looking up technical work related things. Not always the case. A good example is I'm responding to a live journal post. }:-)

There is so much wonder in life out there all around you though.

1. Green growing things.
2. Trees reaching for the sun.
3. Little birds that flit around.
4. Cute but nasty raccoons that will chew your arm off as soon a look at you.
5. The technological wonder that is te computer that your using.
6. Listening to Tom squeel in pain as his 6 year old computer randomly crashes at boot cause of some problem. ":)
7. The feel of a soft wet dogs nose against your paw.
8. That sense of joy you get when you get an ice cube and rub it against someones skin and watch them squirm around.
9. Sigh... so much to live for.

Thank you for the list. One through five and seven are great joys. I should clarify what I was posting about. 11pm on your computer when your tired is not the best time to look for wonder. Bed and the wonder of dreams is best at that point. }:-)
